On our latest segment of LET IT BE KNOWN LIVE RADIO, we
placed emphasis on being consistently motivated in meeting your own
expectations and not settling for what is thrown at you. Many people settle and
accept mediocrity plainly out of fear and a false sense of security that has
caused them to discount any alternative and notion of transition. People
approach relationships, jobs and marriages full of expectations but over time
forget what they were in it for—leading to complacency. They kill off all of
their personal expectations by choosing to have them dwarfed by those they are
surrounded by who will accelerate that mediocrity. Mediocrity depletes a lot of
potential, dreams and aspirations. There
are many of us that are unhappy with our present conditions but choose to
accept them instead of challenge them. If you surround yourself with the right
people, the right things will happen. Get those in your life that will
stimulate and inspire you which will ignite that inner-fire in you. All of the
things you don’t like you will then find the means to correct them.
On our latest segment of LET IT BE KNOWN LIVE RADIO we touched on a very sensitive topic that generates so much emotion and perspective........... Child Support. I do understand that in some cases both parents need someone to intervene which is how the courts do help. In all my honesty, I also feel this system does more harm than good to the infrastructure of a family and culture. We discussed how this is treated as big business and how methods are in place to keep the money coming. What usually happens is that this has very little to do with the bigger picture which is clearly the welfare of the child. It was very interesting to hear the viewpoints of the panel and our listeners as they chimed in to share them. On November 4th 2010, Celebrity Hairstylist Duane Moody was a guest on LET IT BE KNOWN LIVE RADIO for our discussion " Through the Eyes of a Man..... A Single Father's Testimony." In sharing his own personal testimony it was a honest perspective from a man that is living as a single father. Professionally, Duane is the personal hairstylist for comedian Tracy Morgan and can be found on the set of the award winning show "30 Rock". He has also worked with countless others stars on both movie and video sets in the entertainment industry. As a single father to his son that he has had legal custody for since he was young after the untimely death of the mother. The show was very emotionally charged, touching and intense. All so often, we are all coming accustomed to hearing a woman's side so this was definitely a good show and we thank Mr. Moody for taking the time to share his story. I want to emphatically say that any single parent that's left to handle the responsibility of raising a child on their own is saluted and respected.
